Nora Vargas Vargas currently serves as the Vice President of the Southwestern Community College District Governing Board, currently the only public institution of higher education within South County. She is the vice president of community and government relations at Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest, a board member of the California State Teachers’ Retirement (CalSTRS) board, and is a Champion for Hispanas Organized for Political Equality (HOPE). Nora is passionate about ensuring that marginalized voices are included in the public dialogue regarding important issues like like health access, education, consumer protection, economic development, the environment, pensions and civic engagement. She looks forward to bringing these issues to the forefront of her campaign.
