Sarah Boot

  • Party: Democrat

Endorsed Democratic Candidate for San Diego City Council Election for District 2.

Sarah Boot has been a federal prosecutor, community advocate, and public servant. Her professional life has been distinguished by her commitment to making her community a better place to live, work, and raise a family. She has led investigations to dismantle cross-border drug trafficking organizations and has prosecuted drug dealers, bank robbers, and criminals who sell young children for sex on the streets of San Diego.

Prior to serving our community as a prosecutor, she worked in a private law practice representing local technology companies, internet companies, and non-profit entities and foundations. In addition, she has handled a broad array of litigation ranging from contract and employment disputes to intellectual property and land use disputes.

As a prosecutor and women’s rights advocate, she has a clear sense of right and wrong, both in and out of the workplace, and believes this sensibility is needed as we work to restore the damaged reputation of City Hall.

As a community leader, much of her work has been dedicated to advancing the status of women. As the President of Lawyers Club of San Diego, the women’s bar association, she spearheaded numerous initiatives to advance women in the workplace and, under her leadership this past year, the membership has grown by 30% to an all-time high of 1,200 members.
