Martha Alvarado

Hi!  My name is Martha Alvarado. I am an elementary school teacher with over two decades of experience in the public school system. I believe that public education is a sacred institution of our government which should be preserved and properly equipped to prepare our children for the future. I am the product of public schools as is my son Pedro. He is a Vista Unified graduate who attended Temple Heights Elementary, Roosevelt Middle School and Vista High School.

His teachers supported him along his journey and helped him reach his true potential as a student and a global citizen. His positive experience as a student of Vista public schools afforded him many options after high school. However, not every student in Vista Unified schools has had that same experience. I am running for re-election for Vista School Board to ensure all students have the same opportunities my son had.
